Stuart has in the past formed his own band and now plays with many other bands or as a soloist. One of the many highlights was playing to the late Graham Taylor of Watford football club. In 2015 he was asked to join and help form Just Friends with Barrie Griffin who is the bass player in the trio.

Barrie was the main founder of Just Friends and has played extensively in many jazz bands covering all the various forms of jazz. Always very relaxed in his playing style and has a huge knowledge of the jazz greats.

Piano

Peter is a very talented musician. Of the three of us in Just Friends, music is his profession as he teaches violin when not playing the piano. Like all of us he plays in many jazz bands and groups and his solos on the piano are something else.

If you would like more than just myself playing saxophone along to backing tracks then one of the groups that I play for is a small jazz band called Just Friends. The band consists of saxophone, piano, drums and double bass.

Over the years we have played at many private garden parties, birthdays, civic receptions, wedding receptions and the National Trust.

If you are looking for a band to play in the background at your event then we can offer many of the standard jazz tunes which offer a nice, warm mellow sound. We are happy to play special requests as long as we are given some time before the event to acquire and practice any new tunes.
